Do I have to sell after the appraisal?
No. Appraisals are free and there is no obligation.
Do you buy the whole collection or just the best records?
We prefer to buy the whole collection and make one offer for everything. If you want to keep certain records, just leave them out.
Do I need to clean or sort my records first?
No. Please don't clean records with household products, which can damage them. Photos are all we need.
What if I only have a few records?
We're happy to look at small collections, especially if they include jazz, soul, punk or original rock pressings.
Pricing & payment
How do you decide what to offer?
We look up recent sold prices for the same pressing in similar condition, then make an offer for the whole collection. Your written appraisal lists the records that drive the value.
Are there any fees?
No. Appraisals, boxes and shipping are free, and there is no commission on a direct purchase.
When and how do I get paid?
On the spot at a house call, or the day a shipment arrives and is checked. We pay by cash (at house calls), PayPal, Zelle, Venmo, check or bank wire.
Shipping
Who pays for shipping?
We do. We send boxes and prepaid labels, or arrange freight for very large collections.
What if the records are in worse condition than the photos showed?
We explain what we found and make a revised offer. If you decline, we ship your records back at no cost.
Do you pick up in person?
Yes. For large or valuable collections in Southern California (Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura and San Diego counties), we make house calls by appointment and pay on the spot. Everywhere else, we send prepaid shipping labels.
Estates
Can I sell records from a relative's estate?
Yes. We just ask you to confirm that you're the executor or have the family's agreement to sell.
Do you provide a receipt?
Yes. We provide a signed receipt listing what we bought and what we paid.
